Zonta establishes new scholarship for MSU Billings TRIO SSS students

MSU BILLINGS FOUNDATION & ALUMNI NEWS— A new scholarship in honor of the late Lynn Eggebrecht will honor her commitment to making the best of one’s life. The scholarship has been established by the Zonta Club of Billings and is named the Lynn Eggebrecht & Zonta Club of Billings Determination Scholarship. It will serve to support MSU Billings students receiving TRIO Student Support Services who, in thought, word, and deed, embody the ideals that guided Eggebrech’s dedication to her career and her service to the community.

“We are extremely excited about this generous scholarship program specifically for TRIO SSS students. The TRIO SSS program at MSUB serves U.S. students who are either first generation, low-income, or have a documented disability. We have begun sharing the opportunity to our students, as the program will begin in the Fall of 2023,” says Laura Gittings-Carlson, Director of TRIO Student Support Services.

A 1984 graduate of MSU Billings, Eggebrecht was an admired and respected business leader. Throughout her academic years she overcame obstacles that, rather than being barriers, provided her motivation to succeed. Her determination led her to a successful career in financial services, and she finished her career as a Branch Administrative Manager with Wells Fargo Investments. She invested in the community by giving her time to projects that improved the lives of others and believed in the transformational power of education encouraging others to complete this goal. She brought her determination, leadership, and compassion to all that she did for our community.

Eggebrecht was a member of the Zonta Club of Billings from 1998 until her passing in 2020 and served in several leadership positions in the club. Zonta is an international organization that works to build a better world for women and girls through service and advocacy.
