Tom Scott, the former First Interstate Bank CEO, was a great leader and supporter of the Billings community. He would talk about Billings having an excellent financial center, medical corridor, and public education system serving Montana. Tom was a visionary who contributed to programs that had a vision for the future.
I have known and respected Tom for many years. When I started at the MSU Billings Foundation, I visited Tom. We had a large project, the Yellowstone Science and Health Building, and I needed his support. He wanted to learn more about the project and, most of all, the vision for the future of the MSU Billings campus. We met many times, and Tom asked a lot of questions. When he felt confident that it was a good investment, he gave to help us start the building campaign.
Tom liked MSUB and was excited to see the next generation of graduates become leaders throughout our state. Tom was honored by the College of Business’ Montana Business Hall of Fame – he truly was a leader in Montana and Wyoming.
MSU Billings owes a big thank you to Tom Scott for his support and belief in our university. I will miss our friend and remember him as we see the new science and health building, which is currently under construction, completed. Tom knew every student learning in this building would help create a better world!
Best regards,
Bill Kennedy, President/CEO
