Support MSU Billings programs on Jacket Giving Day

MSU BILLINGS FOUNDATION NEWSMSU Billings hosts Jacket Giving Day on Tuesday, Oct. 9. This one-day online fundraiser benefits 17 campus projects and programs. The event comes on the heels of a successful Jacket Homecoming weekend, the first in decades at the institution.

What’s the Buzz?

From the annual powwow to a new recording studio, the Yellowjackets are rallying support for deserving causes all over campus. With a goal of 500 donors in 24 hours, contributions to Jacket Giving Day enhance these projects and programs. Most importantly, donations support the students of MSU Billings so they receive the best education possible.

Visit jacketgivingday.msubillings.edu beginning at midnight on Oct. 9 to make a gift to the project or program of your choice. Furthermore, help spread the word on social media. Use #JacketGivingDay, and download graphics and sample text from the site. Also look for Jacket giving Day headquarters from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the Student Union Building at 1500 University Drive.  Finally, the public is invited for a free barbecue from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at headquarters. Free lunch will also be served at the City College Tech Building, located at 3803 Central Ave.

Every student matters. Every gift counts.

The theme for Jacket Giving Day is “Every student matters. Every gift counts.”  Donation amounts begin at only $1, although there is no limit to what you can give. Some participating projects and programs are offering incentives for donors, so be sure to read descriptions on the site. Donations to international studies might earn you language lesson, while you might get a thank you letter from other programs. Plus, several challenges have increased the competition for new donors and social media participation.

Jacket Giving Day is the first event of the MSU Billings Foundation’s Annual Drive campaign. Campaign funds support faculty and staff training, department equipment needs, and numerous other initiatives. As a result of the Annual Drive, the foundation can continue supporting students and the MSU Billings campus.
