October Letter to Alumni from Chancellor Edelman

Dear alumni,

Fall semester has begun, days are getting shorter, and it’s time once again for the Annual Drive for Excellence. The drive supports the MSUB Foundation in their critical work to provide funding for student scholarships, academic programs, campus projects, campus and community outreach, and alumni relations. For more information on the drive, visit this link.

The need for a successful Annual Drive for Excellence is more important than ever. With 34 percent of MSU Billings students considered low income, the foundation distributed $1.6 million in scholarships last year. The Foundation is also instrumental in providing funding to alumni relations, which became an extension of the non-profit in 2017 after a brief period as a University department. These funds allow your University to connect with you through programming, events, and so much more. Annual Drive dollars also went to support sending MSU Billings faculty and staff to training/conferences, the Yellowstone Emergency Food Pantry, equipment for a number of departments, student art shows, and numerous other initiatives.

Community component

The Community Drive is a key component of the Annual Drive for Excellence. I ask you to consider making a gift. Our vast alumni network is integral to our continued recruitment of the best and brightest students. Your gift will ensure we develop programming that meets your needs and keeps you connected with your alma mater. You can choose to designate your gift to a specific area or to the most immediate needs.

Watch your mailbox for an Annual Drive letter and pledge card. Then, make your donation via cash, check, or credit card. You can also donate now via credit card or PayPal with this link. I hope you will help the Foundation in helping students, who will soon be alumni like you.

Every student matters. Every gift counts.

Sincerely,

Dr. Dan Edelman, CPA
Chancellor
