A friend of mine once told me that once you reach age 50, the years seem to pass quickly. So, as we celebrate 50 years of the foundation, we should brace ourselves for time flying by to the 100-year anniversary of MSU Billings!
We saw a lot of changes in 2018. We reached the $5 million goal to match the state’s $10 million for the new Yellowstone Science & Allied Health Building. Thank you to all who donated – it will be exciting to start construction this year! We welcomed new staff members to our team, a new chair to our board of trustees, and a new chancellor to the MSU Billings campus.
Now, the foundation is preparing for the future. We completed our three-year strategic plan, which emphasizes putting students first. Thanks to our staff and board of trustees for their participation in crafting the vision for the next few years. We reinvented this newsletter and our website with a fresh look, taking steps to stay relevant for the next 50 years. Exciting times and growth for MSUB keep us busy as we secure services, scholarships and housing to make school affordable at our university.
Thank you to our friends and donors for your continued support. To kick off 2019, an anonymous friend just donated six scholarships renewable for four years to help students who might not be able to attend college. This truly is an example of putting students first!
Looking toward the MSU Billings centennial in 2027, our future looks bright because of the work we’re all doing to make education a reality for our students.
Happy New Year!
