‘Jackets Swarm at MSUB for Homecoming

There is much to celebrate during our fall semester here at MSU Billings. In September, we announced the highest fall enrollment in four years. Of the 4,416 students, 2,691 are at University Campus and 1,725 are at City College. Our enrollment growth has truly been a team effort and we appreciate the efforts of faculty, staff, community, and especially our alumni!

‘Jacket Homecoming Recap

Another cause for celebration is the wrap up of a second successful ‘Jacket Homecoming the first weekend of October. It was great to see all of the activity and spirit on our campuses. I hope you had the chance to participate in one of the many events, especially our first-ever Homecoming Car Show. At ‘Jacket Homecoming, we also debuted our new MSU Billings ice cream in partnership with Genuine Ice Cream. Three potential flavors were in the running, but the votes were tallied and ‘Jacket Rumble took the prize. More details about the winning flavor and where you can find it will be available soon.

Show Yellowjacket Pride

It was great to see and interact with the many alumni in attendance at ‘Jacket Homecoming. In my conversations with alums, like you, it was clear that they all share pride in their alma mater. I enjoyed the many stories about how their education and time here has made a positive difference in their lives.

The MSU Billings Alumni Association in partnership with the MSU Billings Campus Store continues to expand the ways for you to show your alumni spirit. I encourage you to check out some of the great new casual additions to our alumni clothing line available online.

Stay Connected

Beyond Jacket Homecoming, there are plenty of ways for alumni to stay involved and celebrate with our campuses. You can attend MSU Billings’ library lectures, support our athletic teams, visit art exhibits, and join in our special alumni events.

To learn more about upcoming events visit our online calendar. New events are added regularly, so continue to check back for updates! Here are a few great events coming up that may interest alumni, including:

    • Oct. 26 – Women’s Alumni Basketball Game
    • Nov. 6 – Montana Business Hall of Fame. Tickets are still available for this year’s celebration that honors Marilyn Bartlett, George Selover and Larry Simkins.
    • Nov. 6 – Give a Ton Kickoff: Battlin’ Bears/Yellowjackets Food Drive

Golden Graduates Returns

Another reason to celebrate is the return of the Golden Graduates Alumni Program, May 1-2 as part of 2020 Commencement. Alumni who earned their degrees in 1950s, 1960s, and 1970s are invited back to their alma mater for an exciting lineup of events. For more info visit this link.

Again, I thank alumni for their ongoing efforts to improve our great institution. Indeed, we have much to celebrate. I hope you continue to stay involved. Go Yellowjackets!
