The last month and a half has been something I have never lived through before now. Quarantines, social distancing, COVID-19, remote teaching, virtual meetings – my world and yours have changed forever! In times like these, we have to look at the bright spots. Thankfully, here at the MSU Billings Foundation, we are still healthy, productive and able to help our students at MSU Billings.
Our Class of 2020 graduates will be able to walk across the commencement stage in December. When they can weather these obstacles, I am betting they will be prepared for whatever life throws as them in the future. One thing is certain: our community will be better with this graduating workforce. Congratulations graduates! And congratulations to each and every business that hires the Class of 2020!
We also have been working hard to provide scholarships to our new and returning students for next academic year. The temporary business closures affected our students since most of them simultaneously work and attend school. Financially, many will have to decide if they can afford school in the fall.
This May is our Montana Match Month. We are asking for help with donations to our Montana Access Scholarships, which are matched dollar-for-dollar. This program can provide 250 students a $1,000 scholarship. This is a great opportunity to double your investment in – and impact on – MSU Billings students. If you can help, let us know.
Until next time, thank you for your continued support and stay safe and well in the coming months!
