This is a year of change at Montana State University Billings! We’ll see shovels in the ground this summer constructing the new Yellowstone Science and Allied Health Building. The university’s strategic plan has a large group of stakeholders helping develop MSUB for the future. In addition, the MSU Billings Foundation has started the process of advancing our own strategic plan with the goal of shaping initiatives to meet student needs with each passing generation.
As we are busy looking toward the future for MSUB students, we are also preparing for a whole season of celebrating our university’s graduates! We kick off the festivities with the Outstanding Alumni Award winners at the Northern Hotel on Friday, March 22 at noon. During the luncheon, we honor these esteemed alumni and also our friend of MSU Billings award recipient, who will be announced live at the event. This year during commencement, we will also honor our Golden Graduates. Alumni who graduated 50 or more years ago are invited to participate in commencement for the first Golden Graduates Alumni Program on May 4 at MetraPark at 10 a.m. We are excited that past Outstanding Alumni Award winner, Carl Ueland, has agreed to be our commencement speaker this year, and we can’t wait to celebrate the Yellowjacket class of 2019.
Excitement for the 100-year anniversary of MSU Billings in 2027 is building. Our staff will be asking for your input as we prepare to celebrate this centennial event. Alumni remember their days attending EMC or MSUB, and those memories will always have a soft spot in our hearts. Our future is truly our students, so thank you for supporting Montana State University Billings!
